The manager says secrecy around Schumacher’s health is “difficult” to understand

News of the Seven time F1 world champion, Michael Schumacher being “out of a coma” went viral on June 2014, however, there’s still not much to know about his exact health condition. We know that Schumacher had left the hospital in Grenoble that year and was transferred to Lausanne University hospital in Switzerland. Recently, Schumacher’s personal manager, Sabine Kehm, admitted in a personal statement that the news around champion’s health would be guarded and it would be “difficult” for avid fans to understand it.

2013 accident

The seven-time world champion was severely injured in the brain after his near-fatal skiing accident in French Alps almost six years ago. He was placed in a medically induced coma for six months until June 16, 2014, after which he left the hospital in Grenoble fur further rehabilitation at the University Hospital of Lausanne.

In September 2014, he was transferred to his home and continued to receive medical treatment privately. There were several instances when his family updated media and fans about his health condition, claiming that he was unable to stand or walk but is making good progress. Apart from that, news about his health has been sparse and the sportsman hasn’t been seen in public for over five years now.

The news about his skiing accident was not only devastating to his close relatives or fans but also heavily influenced the sports industry, which is not surprising: just like when Christiano Ronaldo left his long-time club Real Madrid and was transferred to Juventus, which made a big impact on betting clubs and websites like on https://www.mightytips.com/, Schumacher’s accident left a serious mark on racing world.

Kehm’s statement

With the secrecy around his health, Schumacher’s personal manager, Sabine Kehm, made a personal statement in which she said that Michael’s health was not a public issue, that’s why they were so adamant to disclose any information. But she also mentioned that she understood the frustration of many fans and that it would be “difficult” for them to realize what the meaning behind this secrecy was.

Earlier in September, she also mentioned that the racer was always fiercely private when it came to his personal life. She told official Formula 1 podcast: “Michael has always been a very warmhearted person. But he didn’t want that to be seen to the outside because he felt that would kind of take away something of the competitiveness – at least in the outer perception.”

However, when the cameras weren’t looking, he paid close attention to his close circle. He even tasked Kehm with jobs like finding out the birthday dates of all the personnel he worked with at Ferrari and giving them well-thought-out presents at Christmas. Kehm adds: “He knew that he was demanding, but he felt like at least he wanted to reward them in away.”

Some of the rumors

According to some reports, Schumacher received professional stem-cell treatment at Georges-Pompidou hospital in September. He was under the care of the cardiovascular surgeon Philippe Menasché, who has been described as a “pioneer in cell surgery”. According to Le Parisien, Schumacher was due to receive anti-inflammatory stem cell perfusion, but even these rumors are shrouded in secrecy.

Another rumor that spread in 2017 ways that the star could be moved to the US for special treatment by a brain specialist, Dr. Mark Meeks, who could offer a breakthrough. Dr. Meeks told German magazine Bravo that there’s much more experience with trauma patients in the US and there’s probably no clinic in Europe that can handle as many patients as they do.
