Wehrlein walks away from huge crash in Hungarian GP FP2

Published

on

Sauber F1’s Pascal Wehrlein escaped without injuries after a big accident at Turn 11 during the 2017 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix second practice session.

The young F1 ace loses it and the front end hits the left-hand barrier before spinning round and crashing into the far barrier.

“I crashed – massive” Wehrlein says through the team radio. Fortunately, he was able to walk away and is in the medical car.

Then, toward the end of P2, the Red flag came out again after British driver Jolyon Palmer mistimed his exit from the final corner, hitting the barrier side-on and damaging the right of his Renault.

Palmer has yet to score a point this season, and his Renault seat is reportedly coming under threat as Polish driver Robert Kubica continues his F1 comeback bid.
