Haryanto fined €200 for pit lane speeding

Manor Racing driver Rio Haryanto has received a fine of €200 for speeding in the Sochi pit lane during the third practice session for Russian Grand Prix.

Pit lane speed limit being 60km/h, the figure of €200 is generated as Haryanto’s Manor was clocked at 61.8km/h and each kilometer over the limit equates to €200.

Stewards statement

The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter, determine a breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor named below and impose the penalty referred to.

Session Practice 3
Fact – Pit Lane Speeding – 61.8 km/h.
Offence – Breach of Article 22.10 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations
Decision – The competitor (Manor Racing MRT) is fined €200.
Reason – Self explanatory.

Tomorrow Haryanto will start from 21st ahead of struggling Sauber F1 driver Marcuss Ericsson.
