Hamilton’s 68kg prove how hard F1 car’s front wing

Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton was shows off his 2014 F1 title-winning car [Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid] when he decided to demonstrate just how tough his challenger is.

During a chat with Sky F1’s Natalie Pinkham, the Brit shows just how tough F1 car’s front wing really is by standing on it and bouncing up and down…

Front wing of the car, like all other body panels of a F1 car, it’s made out of carbon fiber. The thing with this lightweight material is that it’s super strong, but its strength can be designed based on the way the weave is laid.

Hamilton, talking to the Pinkham, “It’s crazy: you can stand on this, and it won’t bloody move, but as soon as you touch one wheel, the whole thing flies off.”
