Rosberg on top again as trouble for Ferrari, Button impress

Morning practice pace-setter Nico Rosberg remains on top, the German faster that team-mate Lewis Hamilton by two tenths on both soft and super-soft tyres.

Jenson Button was impressed wth third fastest for McLaren-Honda, ahead of Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen.

Sebastian Vettel half a second slower than Rosberg on softs but makes error on supersoft flying lap and his Ferrari car then breaks down due to loose wheel nut.

The German’s session was brought to an early end when his car lost drive with 15 minutes remaining. “Something is not right, I’ll stop the car,” he reported to Ferrari, before noting that his left-rear tire was loose as the car was lifted onto a recovery vehicle.

Raikkonen 1.6secs behind Rosberg following admitting he “messed up” his best lap with a number of errors.

Daniil Kvyat followed Vettel in seventh place for Red Bull ahead of Williams’ Valtteri Bottas, with their respective teammates Daniel Ricciardo and Felipe Massa rounding out the top 10.

More trouble for Haas F1’s Romain Grosjean in the closing stages. After the front wing failure, his Ferrari engine has just let out a huge puff of smoke on the run to the final corner… more to follow
