Rosberg beats Hamilton to pole for Mexican GP

Mercedes ace, Nico Rosberg claims fourth consecutive pole ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel set third fastest for ahead of Red Bull duo Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo.

Williams drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa managed sixth and seventh respectively. Highly rated F1 youngster Max Verstappen set eighth fastest ahead of the Force India duo Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg.

Kimi Raikkonen spun late on during Q2 and returned to the pits with an apparent mechanical/brake issue. The Finn qualified 15th but will start in 18th ahead of the McLarens duo after a five-spot grid penalty.

Sauber driver, Felipe Nasr was knocked out in Q1 as were the Fernando Alonso and Manor duo.

Jenson Button had mechanical failure on his McLaren-Honda during morning practice, which was unable to get resolved in time, and so the Brit did not turn a lap in qualifying.
