US GP uncertainty rises after third practice delayed by storms

Latest update:

Heavy rain and cloudbursts have continued to cause chaos at US Grand Prix. Third practice was scheduled to start at 10am local time (4pm BST) on Saturday but circuit organisers have now delayed the opening of the track until midday (6pm BST) on safety grounds.

The Circuit of the Americas tweeted: “For the safety of our fans and employees, today’s opening has been delayed until noon. Further updates will be forthcoming.”

If this condition sustained, definitely FIA could postpone Qualifying to Sunday morning. Hurricane also outshines Lewis Hamilton’s bid to seal third world title.

As rain streamed down and lightening spooked those cowering in the grandstands, F1 was forced to cancel the second Friday practice session in Austin.
