US F1 Grand Prix Qualifying postponed to Sunday morning

Finally decision made: United States Formula 1 Grand Prix Qualifying postponed to Sunday morning following the crucial weather condition stays in COTA (Circuit of The Americas in Austin).

Latest FIA update – BREAKING: Qualifying postponed until 0900 local time tomorrow due to prolonged rain at COTA

The qualifying was originally scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Circuit of the Americas opened its gates at noon. The second rain delay was issued at 1:20 p.m.

1:55 p.m.: F1 has pushed back the start of qualifying by another 30 minutes. That’s the third time so far.

Again: F1 officials have just issued a second, 30-minute rain delay for this afternoon’s qualifying session.

Totally qualifying delayed by at least 180 minutes to 9:45pm UK time owing to continued heavy rain.
