A throttle issue caused Rosberg to lose pace, dropping behind Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel as a result.

“It’s not nice when there is a problem with the throttle pedal. Rosberg said.

“That’s a bit of a worry especially as it was coming more and more in my direction the pedal – in the end I had to lift my complete leg off the pedal to come off the throttle.”

“Then I can’t steer anymore when I lift off my leg because then my knee was in the steering wheel.

“It’s unbelievable for something like that to happen.”

Rosberg added: “I don’t think about that, I’m just disappointed with today, and I’ll think about the rest afterwards. I never write anything off and picking up isn’t a problem either.”
