Officially confirms Raikkonen demoted to eighth after Bottas collision

“Kimi Raikkonen, causing a collision and the penalty according to Article 16.3 is 30-seconds added to his elapsed race time.”

Raikkonen managed fifth in the Russian GP, but he handed a 30-second penalty that demoted him to eighth place and meant Mercedes had mathematically settled the title with four races to remain.

Victim Valtteri Bottas and Kimi fighting over third place on the final lap, having both Finn just overtook Sergio Perez, when Raikkonen attacked Bottas’s Williams into Turn 4 and they collided.

Well-performed Bottas was ended the race with empty points, and Perez came through to retake third place.
