Mercedes speedy Lewis Hamilton has described his victory at the Belgian Grand Prix as “a dream” following took a dominant top podium.
The Brit extended his lead in the drivers’ title on Sunday by claiming a dominant victory in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.
Lewis Hamilton’s 80th podium finish listed him level with the F1 legend Ayrton Senna in fourth on the all-time list. Teammate Nico Rosberg has 36, level with two-time champion Graham Hill.
“It was an amazing weekend, an incredible job done by the team throughout all the pitstops and the whole weekend. Today was a dream and the whole weekend the car was fantastic,” Lewis Hamilton said.
“Nico had good pace, but I was able to answer most of the time so I was fairly relaxed at the front. The car was feeling great so it was just about looking after the tyres and when I saw at the end a tyre had blown on another car I was being careful so Nico was allowed to close.”
