British GP organisers set feature F1 fan day in 2014, people can access pit lane

PA979556British Grand Prix organisers have been given a great opportunity for F1 fans; they will open the pit-lane for fans on the Thursday ahead of the race.

After talk with Formula 1 tops, Silverstone circuit bosses have got permission to allow fans in to the pits for a close up look at the cars and team preparations before the July 6 weekend.

“We’ve spoken to Bernie [Ecclestone], and he has confirmed that it is OK. Richard Phillips, Silverstone’s managing director said.

“We have considered doing something like this before, and we are delighted that it is going to happen this year.”

The same day of evening, the Northamptonshire venue will play crowd to British indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs.
