Lotus More F1 teams will skip first pre-season test at Jerez 1Ahead of exciting Formula 1 season with huge regulation changes, Lotus F1 team Principal Eric Boullier cautioned that, more teams will skip first pre-season test at Jerez.

Enstone based F1 squad early confirms they will not attend in first test at Jerez. Also he admits that, car will not be ready on time the only cause skipping opening test.

Boullier insists Lotus’ future in Formula 1 is secure. In 2013 Lotus was snowed under by reports of financial problems, which ultimately resulted in the Enstone F1 outfit missing Kimi Raikkonen to Italian F1 squad.

“You will see, we will not be the only team not being in Jerez. I know this for a fact already.” Boullier speaking to BBC Sport

“We already said a month ago that it is going to be tight. Actually most of the teams agreed it was going to be tight. Then it was a decision we took.

“It is true the car will not be ready on time, but we will be ready shortly after that – and in some ways, it is not bad because we will have time to watch what the others are doing and nobody will be able to watch what we are doing.

“Remember, this year it is a big regulation change, so everybody will be watching very carefully what the others have done. Everything is fine here,” Boullier added. “Lotus will be on the grid this year and for a long time.”
