Brazilian GP venue Interlagos renew deal at end of 2020 F1

spBrazilian Grand Prix stage Interlagos extended the contract with Formula 1, until at least 2020 F1 season.

The city of São Paulo has committed to the reform plan, with new boxes for the 2015 race. At the meeting, Haddad secured Bernie Ecclestone that the Ministry of Tourism will transfer U.S. $ 120 million for the works. The kingpin of the F – 1 had already declared that the capital city would never again receive a stage of the competition if the circuit does not go through significant improvements.

– Are new boxes to teams who have long claimed a better infrastructure to accommodate them, and also the audience will win a race track more modern, updated and replaces Interlagos that the best conditions for hosting the Formula 1 in Sao Paulo – said mayor Haddad.

“I am very pleased that the mayor agreed to the investments that we asked for many years ago,” Ecclestone is quoted as saying by Brazil’s Globo Esporte. “If this had not happened, we would have considered not having the race here. We are very happy.”
