Williams targets points finish in Korean GP

2012 Korean Grand Prix - SaturdayLast race weekend at Singapore the Williams F1 duo took a breakthrough in their performance, Maldonado and Bottas finished 11th and 13th respectively.

Currently the Grove based F1 squad expected that their FW35 machine suits for the Yeongam circuit for this weekend Grand Prix at Korea.

Pastor Maldonado (16th , 1 point) : ” The Korean circuit is a medium-high speed , and has a good mix of corners , and the last section is a technical challenge that has curves that come together very well.”

“Because the track is fairly new , you might is something dirty at the beginning of the weekend and will have little grip , but then builds and evolves much rubber as the weekend progresses , so try to make sure we can adapt to the changing levels of grip. I nearly finish in the points in Singapore , and seek to learn from this race to make the changes necessary to meet the challenge of finishing in the top ten . ”

Valtteri Bottas (17th , empty points) : ” Although this will be my first race at the Korea International Circuit, drove in the circuit in the first free practice last year , so I have experience to base it will be very useful . Circuit is a high downforce that tests the car, and features a combination of curves can start and speed to low speed in the more technical the end.”

“We deal with the pace of the car in Singapore, but we will bring some improvements to this career and I hope that these new parties will be successful and improve performance in this weekend . ”

Xevi Pujolar , chief race engineer Williams team : ” The Korea International Circuit is a great challenge : the first sector is mainly composed of lines, and the sectors two and three are a combination of sequences and medium speed corners . Circuit behaves quite well with the tires , which foster the low temperatures the asphalt. the average fuel consumption and a waste of time in the pit – lane ‘ above average, favors two-stop strategy . This year , Pirelli has chosen the medium and super soft compound . ‘s first Korean Grand Prix was affected by rain but despite the Korean situation and the high likelihood of typhoons and tropical storms, no rain is forecast for this weekend . “
