Vettel remain top time in second practice for Hungarian GP

Sebastian Vettel (GER) Red Bull Racing RB9Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel remains his position at the top of the time-sheets in Friday second free practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The German led his team-mate Mark Webber by 0.044 seconds, Romain Grosjean set third fastest for Lotus.

The Red Bull duo switched back to the medium compounds at the end of the session, Vettel set a 1:21.666 on the Mediums, just four tenths slower than his fastest Soft tyre shot.

Ferrari duo Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa set fourth and fifth fastest respectively. The Spaniard’s best lap-time just 0.162s off Sebastian Vettel’s time, Ferrari proved flying time in sector two lost time in the final turn, and the Brazilian’s best lap-time just 0.280 off his team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg set sixth and seventh fastest, the duo half a second off the pace Red Bull’s time and the Mercedes too struggled in third sector of the lap. Even as second Lotus speedy Kimi Raikkonen set eighth fastest following an uneasy run with Soft-compounds.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set ninth fastest and Force India’s Adrian Sutil completed the top ten in the grid. The second Force India guy Paul di Resta set eleventh fastest ahead of second McLaren speedy Sergio Perez.
