Toro Rosso set Renault engine for 2014 F1



Red Bull Racing’s sisters team Toro Rosso switched from Ferrari to Renault engine for 2014 Formula 1 season.

Some reports already surrounded in the sport that Toro Rosso change their power for next season and finally both Red Bull owned teams powered by Renault engines.

Formula 1 engine policies are shifting 2014 season with the introduction of a new 1.6 litre V6 turbocharged engine with energy recovery systems as an alternative of the current V8 engine.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner said the Toro Rosso contract made “perfect sense” and would “enable synergies between Red Bull and Renault to continue to grow”.

“Red Bull would remain the development partner for the new V6 turbo power unit, Renault said.
