Hamilton: Single lap pace is good, still trying to improve race pace

Lewis Hamilton says that single-lap pace is good Mercedes, but still they are concerned about long run pace. Last two races at Bahrain and Spain Mercedes safely took Pole position but they are dropped down in the main race due to heavy rear tyre degradation.

Last two grand prix Pole sitter Nico Rosberg set top fastest lap-time for Thursday practice beside with his team-mate Lewis Hamilton took second quickest. Some news sources states that Mercedes not fixed rear tyre degradation issues.

“Some of the others are looking pretty quick, but we have good pace ourselves. We have been trying to improve our long run pace.” Hamilton told Sky Sports News

“I had a fairly decent long run so we’ll have to wait and see. I had a bit of graining but otherwise it didn’t look bad. I’ve got a bit of work to do this evening, then I can chill tomorrow and hit it hard on Saturday.

“We obviously have good pace and Nico is very quick this weekend, so it is looking good.”
