FIA to fix telemetry link problems for Spanish Grand Prix



Formula 1 governing body FIA to set fix telemetry link problems for the Spanish Grand Prix, and its will allow the full functionality of the cockpit warning system.

The first four races of this season drivers’ are struggled with this problem, the telemetry link between race control and the cars with race control unable to automatically disable DRS. Its reasons problems with race control’s GPS data, cockpit warning lights, and the DRS.

FIA’s driver stewards – Derek Warwick – told Reuters that the issue should be resolved at Spanish Grand Prix.

“We’ve been told they’ve got an upgrade which is going to Barcelona and then it’ll be working from there,” Warwick told Reuters.

“You can’t blame a driver if we’ve messed up in terms of the support package. The FIA has asked us to be lighter on fines for the drivers, but we still have the same tools available to us for other punishments.”
