McLaren’s new recruit Sergio Perez proved that he is able to challenge with front runners, during the Bahrain Grand Prix the Mexican many times fight with his team-mate and the main title contenders.

After the race Jenson Button says that he is too aggressive, the duo was made minute contact, when battle for top place. The consequences of the incident Perez’s front wing damaged but eventually he finished sixth place from twelfth. Button forced to adapt four-stop strategy and finished 10th.

“I was very vocal on the radio, emotions were running high, but I would say exactly the same again, the racing was great out there. The only person that wasn’t was Checo [Perez]. Button said.

“He was too aggressive, I would say. At 300 km/h, you don’t expect your team-mate to come alongside you and bang wheels with you. It was a bit of a surprise, and I’m probably not the only one that feels like that. That’s something you do in karting, and normally you grow out of it.”

Perez also admits that he is aggressive comparatively with his team-mate pace and also Button just inflexible with him.

“I think I was as aggressive as he was with me It was probably too much. We could both have ended our races.” Perez said.
