Tim Goss appointed as new technical director for McLaren



The Woking based F1 squad McLaren appointed Tim Goss as its new technical director, following the exit of the Paddy Lowe, and he decided to join Mercedes F1 team.

Even as Lowe will be working by McLaren until the end of the season on ‘gardening leave’, but Ross Brawn’s position as Mercedes team principal remains undecided.

In a declaration released on Monday McLaren’s team principal Martin Whitmarsh said of Goss’ appointment: “I’d like to offer my congratulations to Tim on his new position, which, after more than 20 years of exceptional service for McLaren, he richly deserves.”

“Paddy [Lowe] will be performing a different role within McLaren until the end of the year. He’s been a good and successful F1 technical director, and we wish him well when he embarks on a fresh challenge in 2014.” Whitmarsh added about the Lowe’s departure

Speaking about his new role, Goss said: “I’m delighted to have been offered the technical directorship of McLaren, and I’m greatly looking forward to making a significant contribution to the team’s ongoing success in that role.”
