McLaren’s technical director, Paddy Lowe will join to Mercedes F1 team, following his current deal with Woking based squad at the end of this season.
The report not officially confirmed, but McLaren having now appointed Tim Goss as its new technical director.
The guardian reported that, last month, the Mercedes team principal, Ross Brawn, responding to questions about his own future with the German team, said Lowe would not be joining as long as he remained in charge.
Brawn said: “Paddy is not coming. I want to see how things go before I make a final long-term commitment. If I choose to leave the team then Paddy will come. We’ve got a plan. We have a fall-back plan. It’s as simple as that.”
Still not clear, what position Lowe will take at Mercedes, as the team already has three technical directors in place, but he is likely to assume a more senior management role at the outfit.
