Hamilton fastest on final day of second test at Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton set quickest lap-time in the final day of second pre-season testing at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. The Mercedes speedy set fastest lap time in disjointed day with rain and many red flags break off.

McLaren’s Jenson Button managed second fastest ahead of Toro Rosso’s Jean-Eric Vergne. Force India reserve driver Jules Bianchi set fourth fastest, the Frenchman brought the day to a close a couple of minutes early following stopping at the end of the pit lane.

Esteban Gutiérrez was the most constructive driver of the day, he successfully completed 96 laps and set fifth fastest. In the morning session during the light rain Gutierrez was stoppage his machine in the gravel at turn five.

Caterham’s speedy Giedo van der Garde set sixth fastest ahead of Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, the Brazilian was the first man, who skid in to the gravel at turn four just ten minutes in to the day’s running.

Red Bull’s Mark Webber set eighth fastest lap-time, the Red Bull speedy mainly focused on practice pit-stops.

Marussia’s Max Chilton made ninth fastest ahead of Lotus’s Romain Grosjean. The Lotus speedy set tenth fastest but it is the huge variation among fastest lap times, over 11 seconds off the pace.

The Williams duo only the drivers not to set lap-time, Valtteri Bottas and his team-mate Pastor Maldonado focused on pit stop practice.
