Alonso set quickest lap time on third day of second pre-season test in Barcelona

Fernando Alonso set top fastest lap-time on the third day of pre-season test in Barcelona for Ferrari. He successively completed 97 laps with Pirelli soft compound, best lap-time with 1:21.875.

Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg mange second fastest lap-time, he completed 91 laps just less than 0.3s slower than top runner Fernando Alonso.

Lotus’s Romain Grosjean set the third quickest lap-time. The Swiss-French speedy clocked a 1:22.188 in the morning session, Mercedes Nico Rosberg set fourth fastest ahead of Williams regular drivers Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas.

Last year Spanish GP winner Pastor Maldonado was successfully completed testing in the morning session following, he hand-over cockpit to team-mate Valtteri Bottas at lunch.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set seventh fastest ahead of Force India’s Adrian Sutil. Ex Force India driver Sutil come back to the track for the first time since 2011, finally he finished eighth fastest.

Red Bull’s Mark Webber completed ninth fastest ahead of Toro Rosso’s Jean-Eric Vergne, Marussia’s Max Chilton and Caterham’s Giedo van der Garde.
