Rosberg set top fastest on the opening day Barcelona test

Nico Rosberg set top fastest lap-time on the opening day of the second pre-season test at Barcelona. Early day of testing the Mercedes speedy struggled with gearbox problems; finally he recovered from this issue and set quickest lap-time.

Following the lunch break the German back on track and complete a total of 54 laps and set the pace with a 1:22.616 on the medium tyre and narrowly edged out by just 0.007s Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen.

Fernando Alonso set third fastest with top mileage, the Spaniard completed 110 laps; he missed season’s first testing at Jerez.

Early day of pace setter Sebastian Vettel managed fourth fastest with 1:22.965, Williams Pastor Maldonado set fifth fastest with brand new FW35, he successively completed 86 laps running.

Toro Rosso’s Daniel Ricciardo made a fantastic productive day and he set sixth fastest time ahead of McLaren’s Sergio Perez.

Force India’s Paul di Resta made eighth fastest ahead of Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez, Marussia’s Max Chilton and Caterham’s Charles Pic.
