Alonso to drive opening three days of Barcelona test



The Ferrari speedy, Fernando Alonso will drive the opening three days of this week’s test at Barcelona. Double time world champion was not attended in season’s first test at Jerez. His team-mate Felipe Massa will drive on the final day of the test on February 22nd.

Following Ferrari’s 2013 machine launch, the team confirmed that Fernando Alonso’s absence, Ferrari said the decision to permit Alonso to miss out Jerez was “to allow [him] to complete his training programme.”

The Brazilian Felipe Massa was posted the quickest overall time in opening pre-season test at Jerez, 0.269s quicker than his nearest competitor, Lotus’ Kimi Raikkonen.
