Massa quickest on third day Jerez F1 testing

Ferrari’s Felipe Massa set top fastest lap-time on third day of 2013 Formula 1 pre-season testing at Jerez.

Massa post his best lap-time in the morning session of third day testing with new F138, the Brazilian completed 85 laps on the day. His lap time is the fastest of the week so far, and also one more day of Jerez testing remaining.

Struggled Mercedes come-back strongly on the track and today Nico Rosberg completed marathon sum of 148 laps and took second fastest lap-time.

The first day of testing Mercedes forced to cut short its testing due to their new F1 W04 chassis suffering an electrical problem. Yesterday they skipped second day testing following 15 successive laps due to Lewis Hamilton’s early session crash.

Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel got his first taste of new Red Bull RB9 and he set third fastest with 1m19.052s ahead of Lotus Kimi Raikkonen.

Toro Rosso’s Jean-Eric Vergne done fifth fastest ahead of Force India’s test driver James Rossiter, today morning he crashed into a team mechanic in the pitlane following the installation lap. Luckily jack-man escaped from serious injury.

McLaren’s Jenson Button set seventh fastest lap-time ahead of Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez.

Marussia’s Max Chilton set ninth fastest ahead of Williams’s new recruit Valtteri Bottas and Caterham’s Charles Pic.
