Mercedes to sit out rest of second day test after Hamilton crash



Mercedes confirmed that they will not run in rest of second day testing following Lewis Hamilton’s early session crash.

The Brit’s dropping back brake pressure at the wheel of the new W04 at the Dry Sack hairpin and crashed into barrier.

Following the incident Mercedes wrote on its official Twitter account “Lewis suffered a loss of rear brake pressure, the front brakes enabled him to slow the car but he couldn’t avoid the barrier”.

Hamilton completed 15 successive laps before the incident, Finally Mercedes confirm the day two test call off and they wrote on its official Twitter account “To confirm… we will not run again today as work continues with the repairs required on the car”

The first day of testing Mercedes forced to cut short its testing due to their new F1 W04 chassis suffering an electrical problem.
