Hamilton quickest in opening practice for Canadian GP

Lewis Hamilton set top fastest lap time in red flag interrupted first free practice session for 2012 Canadian Grand Prix. Vettel and Rosberg constantly tried to improves their lap-time.

Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel showed a competitive run and he posted second fastest lap-time in final lap of the session with super softs.

Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg set third quickest lap-time ahead of Championship leader Fernando Alonso. And Monaco GP winner Mark Webber was done fifth fastest lap-time.

Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg set sixth fastest lap, Sauber’s duo Kamui Kobayashi and his team-mate Sergio Perez done seventh and eighth fastest respectively.

Michael Schumacher set ninth fastest ahead McLaren’s Jenson Button, the Brit just made 12 laps only, most time he spent in McLaren garage with an oil leak.

Some drivers tried super soft tyres in the final stages session, as with rain predict for the afternoon, Mercedes, Red Bull, Lotus, Nico Hulkenberg, Daniel Ricciardo and the HRTs all chose to try the softer rubber earlier than usual.
