Rosberg top fastest in third day testing at Jerez

Mercedes GP continuously hold on top fastest lap-time with their 2011 machine. Today Nico Rosberg set quickest lap-time in Jerez. Lotus F1’s Romain Grosjean set most quickly lap with 2012 brand new chassis. Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel set third fastest. McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Toro Rosso’s Jean Verge listed fourth and fifth rapid lap time respectively.

Force India missing important track time as Jules Bianchi crashed at the end of the opening laps. German Nico Hulkenberg had not capable to drive in Jerez afternoon. And He will hope to get his first taste of the car tomorrow as the team scrambles to get parts out from the UK.

Today F1 top starts Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso among those getting their first driver their new cars.

Nico Rosberg complete with exhaust-blown diffuser on his 2011 machine – indexing the 1:17.613 lap time which would remain fastest for the rest of the day with long drive in 118 lap.

Romain Grosjean’s Lotus was the fastest of the 2012 new car in long run with 117 laps and set second fastest lap-time with 01:18.419.

Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel set third quickest lap-time after his slower run in morning session, last session he jump back in front, ending the day 0.167s in front of Hamilton. McLaren speedy set fourth fastest lap-time in his MP4-27 with 01:19.464.

Toro Rosso’s Jean-Eric Vergne set fifth fastest just 36 thousandths ahead of Sergio Perez. Perez done fastest time was set on medium compounds and in the cold conditions of the early morning.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso could only done seventh, the Spaniard completing 67 laps in another low-key day for Ferrari.

The Brazilian Bruno Senna in completed 125 laps the most of any driver for Williams, ending the day in eighth. Van der Garde, who was able to rejoin once his car had been recovered, was ninth, with Bianchi unable to register a time in tenth.
