Day 1 – Jerez F1 testing: Raikkonen top fastest in morning session

Kimi Raikkonen set top fastest time in morning session for first pre-season test at Jerez. The Finn set top quickest lap time with new Lotus E20.

Force India’s Paul di Resta has done second top fastest time with 2012 VJM05 on 1m19.772s almost nearby time. Mercedes GP speedy Nico Rosberg completes 56 laps and set third fastest time in 2011 machine. Mercedes GP decided to launch its 2012 F1 car at the next test in Barcelona

Daniel Ricciardo was set fourth fastest with Ferrari powered Toro Rosso STR7 with a 1:20.694 and completed 40 laps. The Australian Mark Webber just completed few laps of all the drivers in the Red Bull RB8 and he set fifth fastest lap time.

The Japanese speedy Kamui Kobayashi was done sixth fastest lap time with 1:21:534. The Sauber, which also got some track time yesterday as part of the team’s promotional filming allowance, completed 29 laps before returning to the garage ahead of lunch.

British speedy Jenson Button set sixth quickest lap with 1:22.366 in the new McLaren MP4-27.
New MP4-27 featured revised exhausts compared to the launch model on display at Woking last week.

Brazilian Felipe Massa was seventh fastest in the Ferrari after getting straight to work early in the morning and completing 45 laps in total clocked a 1:22.815. Heikki Kovalainen has done 23 laps in the Caterham and setting ninth fastest time of 1:23.178.

Pastor Maldonado completed 23 laps and done tenth quickest la time with brand new Renault powered FW34. Pedro de la Rosa rounded off the order in last year’s HRT. The all-white car, stripped of all sponsorship bar Pirelli and Cosworth logos, completed 32 laps with a best time of 1:24.209.
