Lotus (Renault GP) has said that Kimi Raikkonen will take on extra testing in a 2010 Renault GP at Valencia later this month. The Finn, Kimi returning to Formula 1 this season following two years challenging in WRC, he will drive the former Renault team’s R30 chassis on January 23-24.

2007 world champion speaking in last month after his comeback was announced; Raikkonen said he did not anticipate any problems in making a return to the cockpit.

“We can now confirm that Kimi Raikkonen will be completing some mileage in the team’s R30 car at Valencia on 23rd/24th January.” Renault told via Twitter.

“Comparing 2009 to next year the biggest difference will probably be the tyres. I don’t think there is a lot of difference with the cars. DRS is a new thing but this is basically similar to before,” said the Finn, who had his seat fitting at Lotus’s factory last week.

“The button that used to be for the front wing has disappeared, so now it’s for the rear wing. I would guess the main difference is really the tyres.”
