No agreement for Indian GP race seat – Chandhok

Aug.24 – The India F1 speedy Karun Chandhok has said, opposing to trendy belief, that he is not deal with Team-Lotus for racing at this year’s inaugural Indian GP. Following the Team Lotus third driver replaced Jarno Trulli for a single event at German GP; the common paddock feeling has been that the Chennai man would take Heikki Kovalainen’s drive in his home country.

“The worst part is that for me the buzz peaks on Friday,” Chandhok told Hindustan Times. It is painful to go to the pits on Saturday and Sunday when everybody else is getting suited up. I prefer to sit in the engineering truck and analyse the data coming in.”

Question about Chennai man will be driving at the new Greater Noida event this October, Chandhok’s response is in the negative:

“There’s no deal. It’s just another wrong perception like the belief that I paid to get into Lotus. It all depends on the way I handle the car in Friday practice; that’s a big internal assessment for the team. I also want to be on the grid after earning the respect of the team engineers and not just because I am Indian.”
