I need to wait to get a better car – Rosberg

Aug.09 – The German F1 speedy Nico Rosberg says “No one could win with my car”, I need to wait to get a better car, he added. Nico Rosberg is presently seventh in the drivers’ standings, behind the six drivers at the top three teams, but has failed to finish on the podium this year. Mercedes GP has struggled to get close to the Red Bulls, McLarens and Ferraris at recent races and has taken on major upgrades to try to close the gap.

“No one could win with my car,” Rosberg told El Pais. “There are three teams – Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren – who are ahead of the others. I need to wait to get a better car. Later this year or early next year I will start to think about winning. With this car, to me seventh place is like winning,” He added:

Mercedes is currently focusing on improving the car’s exhaust blown diffuser, but when asked which areas need improvement.

“Everything. In general it’s the aerodynamics, mechanically in terms of reducing weight. The engine is fine, but the blown exhaust system, which is a very important part of the aerodynamics now, can be improved a lot. We’re working on it.” Rosberg added.
