Aug.08 – Swiss F1 driver Sébastien Buemi insists that he has a deal to continue in F1 with the Red Bull trademark until at least 2013, clearing up that his future in the sport is not at risk.

“I have a contract with Red Bull until 2013, so it’s not my choice to make contact with other teams,” Buemi explained to Spanish sports daily AS. “They are free to put me wherever they want in the team (referring to Toro Rosso and Red Bull). Buemi went on to discuss his inter-team battle with Alguersuari, explaining that he has been heavily pushed to outrace the Spaniard.

“He is the only driver that I can fight with on equal terms,” he explained. “I always struggle to finish ahead of him, both in qualifying and the race, and in 11 races I’ve finished ahead in seven. This is very positive.”
