Aug.04 – Indian Grand Prix, Buddh International circuit’s FIA inspection now delayed. And the inspection postponed until September.
Last year the same situation regarding the first Korean GP when FIA inspection was postponed some times due to the circuit lacking the final layer of tar. In the end, the race got under way but the facility was in serious need of another 6 months to complete it.
Buddh International circuit announced that the original date, the first week of August. The Times of India reports about the FIA’s inspection:
“We are ready for the track inspection but FIA technical director Charlie Whiting confirmed that he will be in Delhi on August 31,” Vicky Chandhok, president of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India, said. All required infrastructure including pit buildings, grand stand, media centre and the hospitality area has been completed but the final layer of the track will be laid in mid-September.
“We plan to hold one of the JK Tyre national championship races at the track some time in the middle of September as a Test event,” he added.
