Stefan GP list of 12 potential drivers.

Serbian optimistic Stefan Grand Prix have confirmed that, having failed to secure a place on this year’s starting grid subsequent the non-attendance of US F1 (American F1 team), they now trust to make a debut in 2011 and have a list of 12 potential drivers with whom to do so.

Among the US F1 having disallowed other teams from entering F1 2010 this season, the last-minute pull-out of the Charlotte-based outfit forced sporting governing body the FIA with no option but to prevent the likes of Stefan from making a first appearance, not least as no agreement has been agreed for a Bridgestone tyre supply.

But, the Zoran Stefanovic-owned squad – which purchased 2009 Toyota cars, engines and gearboxes with a hope of joining the 2010 grid – has now announced that (like GP2 outfit Durango) it is submitting an entry for the 13th and final grid slot, with the following drivers as candidates:

Jacques Villeneuve; French-Canadian, 1997 World Champion

Narain Karthikeyan; Indian who raced a single season with Jordan in 2005

Kazuki Nakajima; Japanese driver, competed in full seasons for Williams, 2008-09

Pastor Maldonado; Venezuelan GP2 driver, recently linked with de la Rosa’s seat

Bertrand Baguette; Belgian World Series by Renault Champion, now in IndyCars

Sébastien Loeb; Frenchman, unbeaten to World Rally title since 2004

Ralf Schumacher; younger brother of Michael, won 6 F1 races and now in DTM

Christian Klien; Austrian, out of F1 drive since being replaced at Red Bull in 2006

Karun Chandhok; currently competing with Hispania and made debut in Bahrain

Takuma Sato; Japanese driver, raced to F1 podium in 2004, now in IndyCar Series

Adrián Vallés; Superleague Formula Champion, former World Series runner-up

Alex Margaritis; Greek-German, switched from single-seaters to DTM in 2005
