I will work with my co-driver Lewis Hamilton for successful win: Jenson Button

Button insists he will work strongly with his co-driver Hamilton to help McLaren recover the F1 championships 2010season. Last season world champion is expects hard rivalry from 2008 champion Lewis Hamilton but says inside team competition must not delay their title chances.

We will be ferocious rivals on the track, Jenson said to BBC. However, to be fast and to fight for the world championships we want to work mutually – and that’s what we’ll do.

Following winning equally championships previous year with Brawn, who will race as Mercedes after a conquest by the German car manufacturer, Button said he choose to go to McLaren for a new challenge.

So as to choice has been extensively criticized but Button, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Tuesday, believes having a powerful team-mate is a benefit to his title-winning ambitions. Lewis has gained a lot of knowledge in his short career in F1 and so have I, Jenson told. It’s being unenthusiastic and encouraging for both of us and if we bring it together, we’ll be a lot stronger package this season. I wouldn’t have won the world championship without Rubens Barrichello Brawn co-driver.

We built the car up, we pressed for improvements, we worked together as a team, and you see what happens at the end of the year. The only way of changing that is by workingman hard at the start of the year. After seeing his title defense crushed by Brawn’s early season domination, Hamilton is target on winning back the top from his English competitor. McLaren are also confident their all-English coupling can win the constructors’ crown for the first time since 1998. Whilst tolerant that there will ultimately be one driver who gets more out of the McLaren car on the track, Button is adamant that the team will not favor either driver – despite the fact that Hamilton has been with team since he was 13 years old.

We will have accurately the similar backing and hold up to attain what we hope to achieve, stated Button. Anything happens this year happens, but first of all we need to work together to be spirited. We actually do need to work intimately together, and Lewis understands that as well. It’s a stimulating partnership. We will have a close affiliation and will work in the same direction. For now, Jenson is focused on settling into his new team before he gets behind the wheel of the McLaren MP4-25 on 3 February during the opening winter test in Valencia.

Having ongoing his contract with McLaren on 1 Jan, Jenson has used up a week away preparation in Finland before going into the simulator at the team’s Working factory.

Previous to I came to the team, I did not actually know what to expect and I think we all thrash with change a little bit, he told. But so far the time I’ve spent with the team has been great. I can work with my engineers in the simulator and I have a really good relationship with Jakob and Dave. Therefore, it’s been a good set up and a good base to the association for 2010 season.
