Hamilton explains…How does it feel to break the all-time F1 pole record?

Triple time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton set a record 69th F1 pole position – its writing his name above seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher’s as the all-time pole position king in the Formula 1 record books.

“These guys definitely made me work for it,” Hamilton said to media following the qualifying session. “The weather was obviously incredibly tricky for us all. There was a lot of pressure for that last lap so there was a lot to risk but I gave it everything,”

“Growing up watching the sport as we all have and witnessing greatness in other individuals like Michael … to actually be there proves dreams are something that can come true,” Hamilton added.

“Today was a real challenge with the break, It was a real challenge not to get your mind drained with energy. And racing in the rain is a real challenge.” The Brit said
