Fernando Alonso to be named as Real Madrid Honorary club member

Ten-time champions of Europe and one of the biggest football club in the world Real Madrid, has decided to give honorary club membership to McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso.

The Spaniard will be named as the Honorary member of the club on September 4 at the Santiago Bernabeu presidential box.

The official statement from the club read as: “Real Madrid have stated that on Monday, 4th September, at 1:00pm CEST at the Santiago Bernabeu presidential box, the naming of Fernando Alonso as an honorary club member of Real Madrid will take place.

“Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid and Fernando Alonso will both attend.”

F1 double time world champion has been a longtime supporter of Real Madrid – with the club now accepting his support with this honour.
