Starting Grid – F1 2017 Belgian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton equaled the F1 great’s record by securing a 68th pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday.

Championship leader Sebastian Vettel, who is 14 points ahead of the Briton with nine races remaining and who has just signed a new three-year contract extension to stay with Ferrari, joined his title rival on the front row after pulling out a late flying lap of 1:42.795.

Finland’s Valtteri Bottas qualified third for Mercedes with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, a four-times winner in Belgium who helped Vettel by giving him an aerodynamic ‘tow’ when it mattered, taking the fourth slot.
