Perez and Ocon highlighted once again their rewarding stability with a trouble-free session which sets the Force India target agreeably for more points in tomorrow’s race.
“It was a good run. A lot of pressure on my last lap as I was 100m from the line when the red flag went out. We are really close to the Red Bull but not quite there. Perez told SkyF1
“We have seen there are two categories in F1 and we are in the second one but we will see.
“We are struggling with tyres. Pirelli brought really hard tyres. We are too hard and you saw a lot of teams trying to put some energy through. We only had a single shot with the Red Flag and we had to go for it.
“You need to brake really late and that is one of my strengths. We don’t have quite the pace we had last year. I think we are dependent on mistakes [for a podium] but hopefully we can bring a great race.”
