Formula 1 world champion Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team on Wednesday confirmed it will launch its 2017 F1 car W08 on 23 February.
The launching event, and the Formula One title-defending W08’s opening laps, will take place at British grand prix circuit Silverstone.
The Silver Arrows announced the news in the form of a rivalry, where the winning fans will attend the launch.
“I wish you all the best and hopefully I get to see you guys there,” Lewis Hamilton said in a video message.
Bottas to Mercedes for 2017?
It is just the latest sign that Finn Valtteri Bottas is the one who has been selected to replace the suddenly-retired Nico Rosberg at Mercedes.
Bottas is even believed to have had a secret Christmas seat fitting at Mercedes’ factory.
When asked about his son’s chances of securing the seat, rally legend Carlos Sainz told Spanish radio Cope: “There is no way, because Mercedes have already decided on Bottas.
“It’s just a matter of time before they announce it.”
