Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton took third place for Singapore Grand Prix, narrowly in front of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.
Mid-way through the race Raikkonen overtook Hamilton for third place before pitting along with Rosberg.
Hamilton reacted a lap later with another tyre change but came out well behind Raikkonen.
With just over 20 laps remaining, Mercedes change strategy, the Briton managed to undercut the Ferrari and retake the position; on the podium, Hamilton said he was relieved to salvaged something from a difficult weekend.
“This weekend’s just been a bit of a tricky one for me,” Hamilton said.
“I’m so glad I could get back up on the podium and get some points for the team.
“I was struggling with my brakes, which were overheating, so I had to slow down and watch the other guys pull away.
“We were looking at different ways to try and get them back under control. In the end once I did my second stop or third stop, my brakes were under control.”
