Formula 1 world championship leader Lewis Hamilton has missed out on a second successive pole position heading into tomorrow’s Singapore Grand Prix, he would could qualify only third at the Marina Bay street circuit.
The Brit holds a narrow two-point lead over Rosberg in the championship standings. After Singapore, there are six races left to decide the drivers’ championship.
“No [there are no excuses]. There are obviously things that have come into play this weekend but Nico did a great job. he’s shown the full potential of the car. Hamilton said following the session
“He made a comment about how great it is that the team has shown that we learned a lot from last year, coming here this weekend to be up the front. Today I did the best job I could.
“I can’t pinpoint where the problem is. I lost a lot of time yesterday on the track – it’s just not a good weekend. It has been a tough weekend but a great weekend for the team. There have been some ups and downs, this weekend we might come out behind, but there’s still a way to go so I’ll keep pushing.”
