Nico Rosberg set fastest lap-time in the second free practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix as he edged Ferrari ace Kimi Raikkonen while the championship leader Lewis Hamilton under problem with a hydraulic issues.
Also, it wasn’t a problem-free session for pace-setter, Rosberg as late on he warned of a brake problem, saying it appeared “terminal.”
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was third ahead of teammate Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel, while Hamilton could made only seventh fastest.
Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg was sixth fastest, Daniil Kvyat in the second Toro Rosso completing the top 10.
McLaren’s Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button were ninth and 12th respectively, while Jolyon Palmer was 17th in the Renault.
Jenson Button was also face trouble during the session, as he came to a stop on the track when the session was just three minutes out. A fault in his fuel system was detected and he had to be pushed back into the pits before returning to the track midway through the session.
Rosberg, who has won the past two races and trails Hamilton by only two points, recovered from a crash into a tire barrier in the first session at the Marina Bay street circuit.
The presence of Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull in close proximity at the top of the timesheets promises a hard-fought qualifying session on Saturday.
