Nico Rosberg secure his sixth win of the season Sunday at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
Rosberg’s top podium was not unable to oust Hamilton in the title championship following his Mercedes team-mate made a mockery of a 55-place penalty to finish third.
Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo split the Mercedes to take second in the thrilling race, which was briefly red flagged after a huge collision by Renault’s Kevin Magnussen at Eau Rouge destroyed a tyre barrier.
The result means Hamilton stays top of the drivers’ standings, nine points ahead of Rosberg, who collected his first win in Spa, his sixth of the season and the 20th of his career.
Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg again equalled his best-ever finish by coming fourth, with team-mate Sergio Perez fifth, taking Force India ahead of Williams into fourth place in the constructors’ championship.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso were sixth and seventh, with Williams pair Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa eighth and tenth, with the other Ferrari driver Raikkonen ending in ninth place.
To the disappointment of the home fans, Red Bull’s Verstappen finished in 11th place after struggling to recover from the first-corner incident.
