From live updates – A huge crash for Renault’s Kevin Magnussen at the top of Eau Rouge

Lap 6 of 44: Safety Car deployed after Magnussen crash.

Sky Sports explained that – The back end of the Dane’s Renault got away from him as he went over the exit kerb at the top of Eau Rouge, with the car slewing round and spearing backwards into a heavy impact such the tyre barrier.

The impact was such that the car’s head restraint flew off.

Renault confirmed Magnussen was fine after he was pictured walking away from the car but the red flag came out to halt the race as the tyre wall was damaged so badly.
