Verstappen was second – just 0.002 seconds slower than Rosberg. The Dutchman’s team-mate Daniel Ricciardo was third ahead of the Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
Hamilton, who crashed out in the Friday’s second practice, was off the German’s pace throughout and ended up fourth fastest in the session when he rejoined in the final stages after over-heating problems.
Fernando Alonso was seventh for McLaren ahead of Valtteri Bottas in his improved Williams, Mexican Sergio Perez of Force India and Briton Jolyon Palmer of Renault.
