Massive crash for Kvyat in Austrian GP qualifying

Daniil Kvyat crashes out in Qualifying Q1 for Austrian Grand Prix. A massive accident, fortunately the Kvyat is safely out of the car and seemingly unharmed.

TV footage shows that, it was another suspension problem! Or at least a wide moment over the Turn 8 kerb which broke it.

Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost’s verdict from the pit-wall: “We will have to investigate but it looks like a right rear suspension failure. He needed that lap so he had to risk it.”

Comments about the updated kerbs at the Red Bull Ring – Ex-Formula 1 driver and Sky F1 commentator Martin Brundle has had to say about them “The number of metres of this kerbing for each and every lap is very high. We are on the cusp of a major issue here.”… more to follow
